Accommodation for Glentrool
Glentrool in the county of Wigtownshire has been referred to as the Highlands in miniature and entertains the visitor with its wild beauty and intriguing history.
There are numerous short walks in the area, in addition to the Southern Upland Way which cuts close by. For the experienced walker, Glentrool hosts southern Scotland’s highest mountain, the Merrick. Views from this point encompass the solitude of lochs Enoch and Neldricken and you can walk beside Loch Trool where battles were lost and won. Facilities are available at the Glentrool Visitor Centre, but opening hours are seasonal!
There are plenty of hotels that are accustomed to accommodating visitors with outdoor interests many with facilities for storing bikes and drying clothes! This area also has some fantastic self catering cottages, village inns and B&B’s.
