Both Glentress and Innerleithen lie in an area of the Tweed Valley reknowned for its natural beauty. Glentress Forest is not just the no. 1 visitor attraction in the Scottish Borders, but Glentress was also voted the top UK trail in 2003 and is Scotland's most popular mountain biking centre. From forest walks and drives, to horse riding and the osprey watch facility, and an unrivalled range of 45 miles of dedicated 7stanes trails for mountain bikes, it is easy to see why Glentress and Innerleithen are such popular destinations.But Glentress / Innerleithen is only part of the 7stanes network in the South of Scotland; Traquair Forest at Innerleithen (where the famous Downhill site is based alongside the new black graded 7stanes XC route) is also within the Tweeddale area.
There is plenty of hotel accommodation in the Glentress and Innerleithen area that is accustomed to looking after 7stanes mountain biking visitors. Many accommodation providers offer facilities for storing and washing bikes and drying clothes!
