The cottage has just recently been converted from the village shop hence its name Clachanbuth .. gaelic for village shop! It now provides ideal holiday accommodation for couples or small families who are looking for a peaceful holiday for either relaxation or outdoor activities in wonderful, natural, scenic surroundings.
On the doorstep is the beautiful Galloway Forest Park home of 3 of the 5 Galloway 7stanes mountain bike trails. From April to October the Glentrool Visitor Centre offers welcome refreshments at the Glentrool 7stanes trailhead. For refreshments in the evening the local House o' Hill inn is onlya mile down the road and offers a range of bar meals, good beer, good company and at certain time of the year, live music. The market town of Newton Stewart for other entertainment options and supplies is 10 miles from Clachanbuth Cottage.
Clachanbuth is new to the holiday letting market, having been just recently converted. It has been furnished and decorated to a high standard to provide very comfortable holiday accommodation for 2 or 3 people:
Entrance lobby for muddy boots and coats.
Dining kitchen with Rayburn for cooking, hot water and full central heating (if needed), fridge,washing machine, toaster, microwave with grill (for cooking the bacon!), freezer, dining table and chairs. Lovely views into the forest...watch the wildlife while doing the dishes!

Lounge with woodburning stove, window to front and patio doors overlooking the garden and into the forest and leading to small balcony. TV with VCR & DVD. CD player & radio.
Sun room off the lounge faces North, giving morning sunshine but some shade during the day. Feels like you are in the forest. Dining table and chairs and comfortable seating to relax in. There is also a door from here onto the balcony with steps down to a patio area with garden furniture.
Upstairs:
Double bedroom with queen bed, built-in drawers either side with lamps. Small window and VELUX with lovely forest view.
Single bedroom with VELUX window, antique pine wardrobe and chest of drawers.
Parking & Garden:
Entrance to the off-street parking at the front of the property is through large double gates. The back garden area with patio is accessed by a couple of steps. There is a lower planted area adjacent to the patio. There is a gate at the top of the garden giving access to the forest.
