Description
The Criffel Inn is located in the small village of New Abbey, situated only a few miles from Dumfries along the Solway Coast.

The Criffel Inn is owned and managed by Richard and Sandra Drummond. Sandra has returned to the area having been born in Dumfries and raised in a small village to the north of Dumfries.

The Criffel Inn has 5 rooms with en-suite or private facilities each with colour televisions and tea/coffee making facilities. Discounts may be available for group bookings - please contact us to discuss.

The Public bar is open from 12 till 2.30pm and 5pm till 11pm daily with extended opening hours till 12am on a Friday and Saturday evening and all day opening from noon on a Saturday and Sunday. The bar can be lively with a good group of locals welcoming you in for a drink and a chat.

New Abbey is a scenic and popular destination for outdoor leisure activities such as mountain biking. The Criffel Inn is in the centre of this area with 5 of the world class 7stanes mountain bike trails being within one hours drive. Mabie Forest is 10 minutes from
The Criffel Inn and fit people often start their ride from the inn. Dalbeattie is 20 minutes drive along the picturesque Solway Coast.

Richard and Sandra are both keen mountain bikers. They appreciate the requirements of bikers and therefore have bike storage and washing facilties onsite as well as a wealth of knowledge about the sport and the local trails.
