Drumlamford Estate is a large private country estate of some 1500 acres and three private lochs (pike fishing in one of them) lying 12 miles north of the small market town of Newton Stewart on the River Cree (shops, hotels, restaurants and pubs) and 5 miles south of Barrhill (shop, pubs and small railway station) in the wooded uplands of the Galloway Forest Park, home of 2 of the world famous 7stanes mountain bike trails .

Drumlamford Estate lies adjacent to the Galloway Forest Park, the UK's largest forest park, a mecca for any outdoor enthusiast or adventure sportsman, in fact everyone who appreciates unspoilt landscapes and SPACE.

For those looking for other options, golfers can play many small country courses, with famous Turnberry, venue of the 2009 British Open Golf Championship, some 20 miles up the coast. Arts and Crafts enthusiasts may want to visit Kirkcudbright (The Aritists' Town) and admire the lovely gardens and mansions. History buffs will be hard put to visit all the castles and sites (including the reputed cave of Robert The Bruce's famous spider) that remind us of this area's very bloody history. Motor-racing fans may want to visit David Coulthard's village of Tywnholm - and some may fancy a day-trip to Ireland on the Jetliner from Cairnryan.
