Description
Greenhead Lodge sits at the centre of the renowned 7stanes trails in the various forests of Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders, with three less than 30 minutes drive from the Greenhead Lodge. Ample car parking, secure bike storage and wash down area all available, together with drying room for the clothing.

Greenhead Lodge, sleeping up to 8 people, has been created from a recently completed barn conversion, sitting at the entrance to our steading yard and is remote from the part time farming activities. Views are to rolling farmland lying above the Cairn valley. The Cumbrian Fells and the Solway Firth form the backdrop to the views from the fields behind the Lodge.

Being recently completed means that the latest building standards have been incorporated and the levels of insulation in particular will ensure a most comfortable environment throughout the year, backed up by double glazing and central heating throughout.

On the ground floor there is an open plan layout comprising lounge with TV, DVD and VCR, part partitioned by the chimney with wood-burning stove; dining area and fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher and fridge freezer. Also leading from the entrance hall there is a shower room and a large twin-bedded room with TV.

On the first floor there are a further three rooms all twin-bedded, two of which lead off the landing and the third is a gallery type layout above the lounge. The bathroom includes a screened over-bath shower.

A utility/drying room is separately accessed beside the Lodge which in addition to a washing machine and tumble dryer also contains tiled surfaces and floor drain for handling any wet outdoor gear.

Directly off the utility room is the large sauna which easily seats up to eight and
a games room with slate bed pool table and darts.

Whether you are looking to re-visit a means of travel not used since childhood, or hone your mountain biking skills, or anything in between, this can be catered for at Greenhead Lodge. If you don't intend bringing your own bikes there are bikes available 'on loan' at the Lodge.

Outside in the yard a tap is available for washing down the bikes and then in the evenings relax in our sauna or in front of the log stove after a hard day in the saddle, or even better sitting out on the terrace watching the sun go down.

Greenhead Lodge holidays offer:
  •  High quality barn conversion situated in rural South West Scotland.
  •  Available as self catering cottage style accommodation for up to eight persons, but cosy enough with less.
  •  Ideal for outdoor activity holidays, with drying and storage space for equipment and clothing, and evening saunas for you.
  •  A full itinerary package for golf, cycling or walking for the whole of your stay can be arranged to suit your requirements.
  •  Conveniently located for the county town of Dumfries and for main roads to explore further afield.
  •  At the heart of the renowned 7stanes mountain bike trails.
