Brackenbank enjoys a great position.  It is situated on a quiet private road which leads directly to a network of scenic pathways over National Trust of Scotland land to Rockcliffe; in the other direction it is only 2 minutes walk from the village centre with its slipway, sailing facilities, coastal walks, shop and two of the best pub/restaurants in the Stewartry.
In addition it is only 2 miles from the 7Stanes mountain bike trail in Dalbeattie forest and only a short drive to numerous sandy beaches, loch and river fishing, hill walking, golf courses and other attractions in the area.
