A detached traditional cottage with stunning uninterrupted sea views situated on the private foreshore of Kirkdale Estate. The garden runs right down to the rocky beach providing endless opportunity for exploring, sea fishing, visiting the caves further along, collecting shells, watching the waves and listening to the curlews and oystercatchers.

Kirkdale Estate is a stunning coastal estate with views stretching far out over Wigtown Bay and the Solway Firth in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Home to the Hannay family for over 500 years, the centrepiece of which is a Robert Adam Georgian mansion. Two coastal properties, Kirkdale Port and Kirkdale Bank, with magnificent sea views are becoming available for holiday letting for the first time in 2009/2010.

Kirkdale Port, newly renovated and refurbished to provide high quality accommodation, is surrounded by woodland and is very secluded. The sitting room and the three bedrooms all have south facing windows out to sea. There is a wood-burning stove in the dining/sitting room. The south facing front garden meets the foreshore and there is a fully enclosed garden to the side and rear of the property.

This delightful cottage is situated 5 miles west of the attractive town of Gatehouse of Fleet with excellent shops, bars and restaurants. In addition, Tesco will deliver directly to the properties. Kirkcudbright Artists" Town and Castle Douglas Food Town are both within 20 minutes drive.

Several superb sandy beaches, including Mossyard and Sandgreen, are only a short drive away. Guests are welcome to use the golden sandy beaches at the private Cardoness Estate only 3 miles away. For sailors, the waters around Cardoness, Sandgreen and Carrick are ideal. At nearby Loch Ken there is a marina with a water ski school and a sailing centre with instruction and boat, canoe and windsurfer hire.

A huge choice of activities are on your doorstep including walking, mountain biking, fishing, horse riding, archery, clay pigeon shooting and tennis. Several golf courses are within easy reach and Kirroughtree, part of the 7Stanes mountain bike network with 70 kilometres of trails, forest walks and a cafe, is within a fifteen minute drive of the cottage.
