Meiklebob Cottages are situated on a working farm and with beautiful views of the surrounding hills and only a few hundred metres from the Dalbeattie 7stanes trails. Our two brand new, attractive, single-storey barn conversions, ideal for groups or families have their own hot tubs and enjoy a peaceful, secluded location with over 400 acres of natural countryside to explore from the door.
We offer a Children’s Welcome Pack giving families a range of nature-based activities to do every day away from the 7stanes trails, from a Bug Walk through to farm trails, and even helping on the farm, feeding the animals.
Dalbeattie Forest boasts one of the world class 7stanes Mountain Bike Trails, covering every grade ranging from Green (easy) to Black (severe) making it ideal for bikers of every age or level of experience.
The farm itself has picnic areas for visitors to enjoy. There are various walks available, from scenic coastal walks to marked forest trails. With riding, fishing, golf, sailing and water sports close by there is sure to be something for everyone.
The Solway coast has many extensive sandy beaches. Kirkcudbright, the artists’ town, has galleries, antique shops and cafes while Castle Douglas is a traditional market town with many local foods available.
The nearest pub is only ¾ mile distant, but you are unlikely to want to stray too far from the hot tub!
