Additional Information
Purpose-built at the turn of the 20th Century as a holiday village, we offer a choice of two mountain bike friendly, late-Victorian cottages in the picturesque village of Powfoot, on the Solway Coast, for either weekly holiday let, or short break rental.

Both properties able to sleep up to a total of 14 people are situated directly on the Powfoot sea front, and are an ideal base from which to explore the 7stanes mountain bike trails of Dumfries and Galloway. There is a small local park, and good pub food is only 5 minutes walk away!
Powfoot also has a testing 18-hole golf course and an excellent privately-hired spa, where tired limbs can be revived after a long day on the trails.

Powfoot Holiday Cottages - Bella Vista Bella Vista forms part of an Historic Scotland Category-B listed terrace, and was built in 1898 overlooking the bowling green and pavilion (now a park). It sleeps up to 5 (7 by arrangement) and is furnished in a contemporary style with original features and open fires.

Powfoot Holiday Cottages- The Old Post OfficeThe Old Post Office was once the village shop and post office, and now offers modern and stylish accommodation for up to 6 or 7 people. Recently re-fitted to a high standard with a stylish seaside theme, the property is but a few steps from the beach with open views, and well-behaved pets are welcome.

Powfoot is also close to the Sustrans Cycleway - National Route 7 which passes through nearby Annan with its red sandstone buildings and distinctive clocktower, over the purpose-built river bridge, this being excellent for cyclists both experienced and new.

There are lots of local places of interest to visit, ranging from potteries, Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District, ice cream factories, activity centres and farms, Castles and picturesque towns and villages to art museums and galleries (e.g. Edward Atkinson Hornell’s Broughton House, studio and incredible Japanese garden in Kirkcudbright.) Local events and festivals take place every year.
