PURPLE MOUNTAIN BIKE CENTRE can provide all the services you need to enjoy your visit to Kielder Forest. With hire, spares, repairs, advice, a shop full of goodies, and a great local knowledge we aim to make your experience a memorable one.

The Purple Mountain Hire Centre is based near Kielder Castle, at the Northern end of Kielder Water with easy access to all mountain bike trails. We have a wide range or mountain bike routes from the gentle border line rides for the family and those new to mountain biking. The moderate lakeside way and Osprey ride, or the more challenging single track of Deadwater, Lonesome Pine and Bloody Bush. We also have the Castlewood Skills Park for the adrenaline junkies. With miles of traffic free trails Kielder Forest has facilities for all levels of rider, and Purple Mountain has a hire fleet to match.

The Kona Caldera is our hard tail work horse as they provide an ideal ride for the trails at Kielder, tough yet responsive. With kids bikes, tagalongs and trailers all the family can ride too
