Thebreakpad is a mountain bike shop located in the centre of what is arguably some of the best mountain bikes trails in the UK.
Thebreakpad stocks a wide range of clothing and bike accessories, as well as a workshop staffed by Cyctec accredited mechanics.

We are a TREK hire and Demo centre, and run a large fleet of well maintained hire bikes to cater for all riders, from 20² wheel children¹s bikes, to full blown disc-brake equipped full suspension mountain bikes. All hire bikes come with a helmet.

Thebreakpad also has a bed and breakfast in Castle Douglas. Our bike shop and hire centre is at  Kirroughtree - part of the 7Stanes mountain bike centres.

We stock a wide range of parts and accessories, from many of the world¹s top cycle brands, the links below give you an idea of our main product ranges. As with the bikes we stock, we tend to select what we feel is most suitable for our location here at Kirroughtree.

Our Hire Bikes

TREK - 4300 (Disc) - £15.00 for 3hrs or £18.00 per day.
Our entry level rental bike. Front suspension, suspension Forks and disc brakes suitable for the GREN, BLUE and RED trails of Kirroughtree and the 7stanes.
Sizes -  13". 16". 18" and 19".

Trek Fuel EX 7 -  £35.00 per day.
The Fuel EX platform was described by What Mountain Bike? as a ŒTrail scorcher¹ and garnered a WMB Gold Award in a review where it was up against some serious competition. A light 5² travel full suspension bike, very efficient on the climbs, with a great, stable, longer travel feel on the downhills.
Sizes - 17.5", 18.5" and 19.5"

Trek Remedy 7 - £35.00 all day
With the award winning Fuel EX platform, and longer travel. The Remedy is for the riders that want to get their teeth into the technical sections of a trail. This bike was built for McMoab!!
 
TREK MT220 (Kids 24" wheel) - £10.00 for 2hrs or £15.00 per day

TREK MT60 (Kids 20" wheel) - £10.00 for 2hrs or £15.00 per day

TREK Mountain Train (Kids 20" wheel) - £5.00 for 2hrs or £10.00 per day.

Adventure Trailer (Kids under 5) - £5.00 for 2hrs or £10.00 per day

We run regular skills courses, and we can also arrange 121’s and group sessions.

Our Workshop

Here you will find the well-equipped cycle workshop, stocked with spares from leading component manufactures in the cycle industry.
Our aim is for 100% of customers to be 110% happy with any work carried out and we can offer expert advice on bike set-up and equipment choice.
Please call or e-mail for a workshop booking. The workshop price list gives an idea of job prices, but all bikes vary, so pop in with your bike if you would like an accurate quote for your bike.

Our Packages

We can arrange everything for you. From a minibus transfer from the ferry/airport/train station to arranging your bike hire, coaching sessions and your modern and comfortable accommodation at our Chalet-style B&B.
