The Jedforest Trails

New from the summer of 2005, the Jedforest Trails have taken advantage of the stunning countryside surrounding Jedburgh and have created a unique mixture of waymarked mountain bike routes. They consist of an eclectic mix of natural and man made surfaced trails, with staggering views across the Border countryside. In parts you will follow old Drovers' and Roman roads in the footsteps of our Reivers ancestry. With the routes based around Jedburgh, youre never far away from the local facilities.

The Justice Trail - 40Km

The Justice Trail is a challenging cross country mountain bike route with changing
landscapes and surfaces. Where nature has been given a helping hand you’ll find
swoopy, bermy, jumpy flowing singletrack.

Family Routes

There are three routes, all part of the Justice Trail, suitable for families; the Dere Street Dash -10.5Km and two loops (6.5Km and 3.8Km) in Lanton Wood. By following the Dere Street Dash, riders will experience steeper descents and more challenging surfaces that are rocky in parts. Some great sections of trail have been created in the Lanton Wood providing fun for all the family. Younger riders will be able to improve their skills on the berms and jumps.

General Information

Whilst the Justice Trail and the Family Routes have been opened, due to the weather and availability of groundworks companies, there are three sections which still need to be cleared of overgrowth and therefore to be avoided. There is a map on the download page which shows these areas, when used with The Justice Trail map the route can (almost) be completed.
