Description
The Liddesdale Hotel is located in Douglas Square at the heart of Newcastleton (sometimes referred to as Copshaw Holm); a 17th century village planned by the 3rd Duke of Buccleuch, set in the peaceful, unspoilt countryside of Roxburghshire. As such it combines the relaxing aspect of a remote rural settlement whilst being only half an hour’s drive to Carlisle and the motorway network.

Fully refurbished by new owners in 2007 the hotel is the perfect place from which to venture onto the Newcastleton 7stanes trails or as a base to explore the other venues. Our hotel can offer you well appointed 3 star en suite accommodation, excellent food and wine in the Hermitage Restaurant and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Newcastleton Forest is full of wildlife and views. Seemingly an odd choice for a 7stane trail, it is a perfect venue for your first way marked trail experience and if great for families to experience the thrill of mountain biking. If you want to get away from the crowds and experience tranquillity whilst riding technical mountain biking trails, Newcastleton is the place ride.

  • Bar meals, snacks and teas and coffees are always available.
