Kirkcudbright offers a good base from which to explore the area and visit all five of Dumfries & Galloway's 7 Stanes mountain bike trails as well as Drumlanrig, regarded by many as "The Jewel in the Crown". The Selkirk Arms Hotel prides itself on catering for the needs of the mountain biker as Douglas McDavid, the owner/manager is a keen mountain biker himself.

All the facilities you may need are provided to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and after a hard day on the 7 Stanes trails you can choose between the new Artisitas Restaurant or the more informal Bar area whith its range of Real Ales, for dinner.

After dinner you can explore the town of Kirkcudright with its rows of brightly painted houses, the harbour area and a great range of pubs with lively and friendly atmospheres.
