At Trailbrakes our mission is to offer unique Scottish mountain biking holidays that
take in the best scenery and trails our country has to offer. We are
based in the heart of the world renowned 7Stanes in Dumfries and
Galloway but our mountain biking holidays explore the whole of
Scotland. We have something for everyone, from 2 day mountain bike breaks to skills weekends and epic coast to coast adventures. Or if you want to have the ultimate control over your holiday contact us to help you design the perfect tailor made trip .
2 Day Trip
Come
and ride for 2 days with us anytime! Whether it's escaping for a
weekend or a much needed mid week break we have the solution for you.
We will organise all aspects of your mountain biking trip to maximise
your riding time and minimise the faff!
Choose from 2 days on
the 7stanes trails, mix and match trails from Dalbeattie, Kirroughtree,
Mabie, Ae or Glentrool or perhaps you'd like to try out some stunning
natural singletrack at Drumlanrig or maybe even take in a less cycled
route through the Galloway forests.
3 Day Trip
Our
Three Day Thrillers are mostly on Bank holiday weekend meaning that you
don't even have to take a day off work to get the best of the South
West. We aim to maximise your time on the trails and will choose routes
and trails that suit your skills, experience, what's open, the weather
conditions and how many beers you've had the night before!
Southern Upland Trek
At Trailbrakes we have pioneered this route across one of the widest points of Scotland and without a doubt this is our favourite trip to run. This route is a challenging coast to coast mountain biking adventure, not for the faint hearted. The journey starts
at Portpatrick on the West Coast and ends at Berwick upon Tweed, by the
north sea, almost 250 miles away. It follows a stunning route that we
reckon is the biking equivalent of cycling the Southern Upland Way. This trip is unique to Trailbrakes and is a real once in a lifetime experience.
Route Details at a glance:
- Portpatrick to Berwick upon Tweed
- Distance - 247 miles or 400km
- Average daily Mileage = 35 miles or 57km

- 7 Days riding

Tailor Made Trips and Treks
At
trailbrakes we know how important your holidays are to you. To make
this a holiday to remember why not let us know what you'd really like
to do. Is there a particular trail you'd love to ride?
Or an
area you'd like to visit? Perhaps there's another activity nearby that
you might like to do in addition to cycling or somewhere you'd love to
visit in the region. You might be organising a stag or hen weekend and
want to do some biking along with some evening activities!
Maybe
you have a burning desire to climb the areas largest hill - the
Merrick. Possibly you know of a place you'd particularly like to see?
Take a look at the tourist board website and collect some ideas. Then
simply let us know and we can put together an itinerary for you that
will pack in as many activities as possible for your holiday.
